Kefalonia is the largest island in the Ionian Sea with extremely varied landscapes.

Besides the beautiful beaches and the mountain paths for trekking, there are many places to be visited:

  • Charming villages
  • Simple but interesting archeological sites.
  • Ruins of Venetian castles.
  • Museums
  • Monasteries
  • The nearby island of Ithaca

Along the coastline lie a great number of beaches , all very beautiful and different  from one another (fine sand, pebbles, cliffs and grottos).

The beaches of Kefalonia

But Kefalonia is not just its coastline.

The island is a mountain chain rising from the sea with the highest peak that reaches an elevation of over 1600 mt .

It is studded with pretty villages, panoramic roads, wild landscapes and evergreen woods reaching down to the sea.

The few archeological sites cannot in any way compete with the famous ones, but in their simplicity they still witness the history of the island: from ancient times to the rule of Venice.

Ithaca lies nearby and we can feel the presence of myth.
